Meet Rachel Lee, Doula…
Rachel’s path into doula work was shaped early on by a deep connection to healthcare, inspired by her father’s dual roles as an EMT and RN. What began as an acceptance of conventional medicine gradually transformed during her undergraduate studies, when she encountered the work of anthropologist Robbie Davis-Floyd and the concept of technocratic birth. This awakening ignited something within her—a desire to reimagine what birth could be. She went on to train as a birth doula with Enlightened Mama in the Twin Cities, stepping into a calling rooted in empowerment, advocacy, and reverence for the transformative power of birth.
With a background in Geography, Rachel brings a unique ability to see systems clearly and hold the broader landscape in mind. This way of thinking allows her to support her clients not just as individuals, but as part of a larger web of story, environment, and lineage. Her passion for holistic health—first sparked during her college years—has only deepened through her doula work, where she honors the physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of the childbearing journey.
Over the past decade, Rachel has also worked closely with Dr. Deborah Gordon at Northwest Wellness Center. What began as a temporary administrative role blossomed into a rich, long-term collaboration supporting integrative health and lifestyle medicine. This experience further rooted her in the values of health sovereignty, self-trust, and prevention, shaping the grounded, informed care she offers today.
Now based in the Florida Panhandle, Rachel nurtures her professional calling while raising two young children alongside her partner, Derek. As a doula, her mission is to walk with families through the sacred threshold of birth—offering guidance, strength, and unwavering presence—so they can welcome new life with confidence, connection, and care.
